'Fox News Sunday' Just Turned Against Donald Trump & It Was Spectacular

You know it is bad when even Fox News is calling Trump out for dishonesty and divisiveness, but that’s what happened during Chris Wallace’s interview with White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus.

Wallace began his interview by asking Priebus to discuss Sean Spicer’s press conference last night where he attacked the press for reporting on the size of the crowds at Trump’s inaguration. Wallace asked Priebus to explain how arguing over crowd sizes was in line with Trump’s promise to help American families.

‘President Trump said in his inaugural address that every decision he makes will be to benefit American families. How does arguing about crowd size do that?’

In response, Priebus said that it was less about the size of the crowds and more about the dishonesty of the media. He said the media had been trying to delegitimize Trump since his election by talking about the Russians or other issues. He claimed that the press was dishonest and that the White House wasn’t going to stand for it.

In response, Wallace asked about President Trump’s own honestly and pointed out that Trump lied about the crowd sizes. He then held up two pictures side-by-side. One was from President Obama’s inauguration in 2009 and the other was from Trump’s on Friday.

Wallace said he thought that arguing over crowd size was “ridiculous,” but that it was important to ensure the president remained honest. He then cited Trump’s claim that there were crowds all the way to the Washington Monument. Wallace, who was there, said that was simply not the case.

Wallace is correct that this is a ridiculous conversation, but the fact that we are having it is also rather unnerving. If the president feels compelled to lie about something as unimportant as crowd sizes then who knows what we will lie about? The press does need to be honest but so does the president. So far, Trump and his staff have displayed a willful disregard for facts and they must be held accountable for that.
