COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, is disproportionately affecting senior citizens, especially those seniors with comorbidities such as heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, and respiratory issues. The United States has surpassed 1 million confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to Johns Hopkins University data, but daily new cases are in decline, suggesting that the social distancing practices and other mitigations strategies are working. President Trump has announced a task force to discuss how to return people to work and spur the economy back into growth.
